In September, we welcomed Tracy Duong and her tutor, Rod Owen, to worship. Tracy shared about her journey to the United States from her home country of Vietnam, and together they spoke about their three years of weekly tutoring sessions with LEARN English. We are grateful for this new partnership and look forward to how we will continue to grow and serve in the community together.

Dear Rev. April Cranford and Westminster Presbyterian members:

We are so very grateful for your decision to make excellent quality office space available to LEARN (Learn English and Reading Now) . This office provides ample and comfortable space for our Executive Director, Gabby Moore, as well as plenty of space to keep our curricular materials. We very much appreciate the leaders at Westminster who have made this happen.

If you are interested in learning more about LEARN and our goal to provide free tutoring to adult learners seeking to improve their command of English, please go to LEARN https://www.learnva.org/

We are always looking for volunteer tutors: it is a very fulfilling job that does not demand a great deal of time but does require several hours of initial training. If you are interested, please contact Gabby Moore at 540-256-2673 or at office@learnva.org. You may also set up a time to meet with Gabby at her new office at Westminster’s office building.

We also very much appreciate your referring prospective adult students our way. Do you know of an individual, family or group who need help improving their English? Many of our learners are new to this country and anxious to improve their command of English. Please use the contact information given above to let us know.

Finally, we have an opening on our Board for the Class of 2028, and it would be great to have a member of Westminster join our group. If you are interested, please contact Roderic Owen (serving as VP and Chair of the Nominating Committee) for more information ( 540-885-1840 or roderic.owen@gmail.com).

Again, our Sincere Thanks to the Westminster church community.
