Stewardship Campaign 2026

Legacy Letterhead.png
We at Westminster strive to be an open and friendly haven where all people can grow in faith, hope, and love. Our congregation lives out God’s love through worshiping, connecting, serving, and growing together, and reaching others in the community.

Our last year’s theme, Living the Love, fulfilled its promises. Westminster sustained ministry excellence through pay increases for our staff and hiring our choir director and our digital ministries director. Transitioning April to a covenant pastor and John to Healthcare.gov resulted in significant health insurance savings.

Growing intergenerational ministries was reflected in the establishment of a neurodiversity connection panel for parents and caregivers, hosting two grandparent events at the Zeus and the Wayne theaters, and memorable youth trips to Montreat and Massanetta. Maintaining sacred places created better online and in-house audio and visual experiences with a new soundboard, three large screens, and video cameras. The church received important updates and cleaning as we prepared for Camp Hope.

At Westminster, stewardship is about more than numbers on a spreadsheet. It’s about joining in the work God is already doing among us and through us. This year’s stewardship series, Legacy: God Calls Us to a Story Bigger Than Our Own, encourages us to take the long view of God’s mission, celebrating our chapter in the everlasting story of God’s vision for the church and the world. We will focus on four key initiatives this coming year—worship, connection, growth, and service that will ensure our future here
at Westminster.

Entrusted to Worship

Worship is the core of what makes us a church. God calls us together to offer our hearts in worship. Gifts support our staff who contribute to worship leadership, especially our pastor and musicians, whose time, preparation, and presence help shape each service. These funds also ensure that our audiovisual equipment stays up to date and our sanctuary remains clean, safe, and accessible for all. Worship supplies, bulletins, and prayground materials are included in this portion of the budget. As people of faith, worship strengthens us and stretches us to live out our calling in the everyday mission fields of our lives.

Entrusted to Connect

A congregation is a collection of people who have discovered that life is more meaningful when shared in community. Gifts in this area support our congregational care ministry, homebound and hospital visitation, and the creation of welcoming, inclusive spaces for church events like Easter brunch, WOW programming, and outdoor picnics. These same spaces can be utilized for outreach. As a church, we laugh together, cry together, eat together, stand together, and commit to being together throughout all of life’s moments.

Entrusted to Grow

Shaping and nurturing our faith is a lifelong commitment. Jesus calls his followers to be learners of God's truth. Gifts provide for clean and well-equipped classrooms, age-appropriate curricula, youth group activities, staff leadership for all Christian education programming, and  dedicated staff for nursery care. We are committed to offering opportunities to grow and deepen our faith at every stage of life.

Entrusted to Serve

Scripture calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves, to alleviate suffering, and to stand for justice. Funds in this area supplement our local and global mission giving, providing support (through HERO) to neighbors at risk of losing their homes, sustaining our connection to the wider church through PC(USA), and offering care to women and children through Ruth’s WARM House. This budget also ensures our facilities remain in good working order for Camp Hope, scout troops, the cold weather shelter, and other outreach groups. Having a foundational amount we can rely on allows us to be bold in answering God’s call to serve.

We invite you to pray for Westminster’s initiatives for the coming year. Pray that we can build on the legacy of our past as we build for our future by worshiping, connecting, growing, and serving together.

Sunday, October 26, is Commitment (Giving) Sunday. During worship, you’re invited to bring forward your enclosed commitment card, offering your gifts to God. Alternatively, you may mail your commitment card to the church office or fill it out online using Realm. To help us plan faithfully for 2026, we aim to receive commitment cards from everyone this year.

On Sunday, November 16, we will celebrate the current results of Legacy commitments, including the number of commitment cards received.

We are excited about the opportunities to meet the needs of the church and community in 2026. God is in this place. Together, we continue to support and grow our welcoming and loving church through you and your gifts. Thank you.
