Building for Love

At Westminster, we believe the love of Christ calls us to create a community where everyone is welcomed, known, and valued. We seek to be a church where people can come as they are, find a place to belong, and take part in the life of our congregation.
We express that welcome in our worship, too. When we gather at the Lord’s Table for Communion, we extend an open invitation to all. It is a reminder that Christ’s love is offered freely to all who come.
Our commitment to inclusion also reaches beyond our congregation. Westminster provides space for programs that help people find belonging, build relationships, and participate more fully in community life.

Camp Hope is a summer camp for children who might not otherwise be able to attend camp. Westminster provides space for this camp, where children enjoy camp fun and build friendships. The counselors at Camp Hope provide a constant, affirming presence, holding hands both literally and emotionally as they support and encourage the children.
Learn English and Reading Now (LEARN English) provides free tutoring and classes for adults who want to learn English or strengthen their reading and writing skills. This work helps adults build skills and confidence to navigate daily life, support their families, and connect with their communities. Westminster supports this work by providing space for LEARN English’s operations.
These are some of the ways we put our welcome into practice. Through our building, our partnerships, and the relationships we form, we can help make our community a place where people belong and have the opportunity to participate fully.
This is one way we build for love.
