Stories from Westminster, Joe and Robbin Miskell

We were married in the Catholic Church in Va. Beach. When we moved to Lynchburg after our wedding, we joined St. Thomas More in Lynchburg. This is where we learned community generosity. We have three adult children and four grandchildren. Our daughters began church participation at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Lynchburg, which had an exceptional youth ministry. When we moved to Waynesboro Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church was recommended by a St. Andrew friend for its active youth ministry. This proved absolutely right with the “LOGOS“ program. Twelve years later many of our children’s friends attended Church on the Hill. We enjoyed worshipping there for ten years. After Covid we started visiting different area churches. Our hope was to find a church we could worship with our children and grandchildren.

We felt at home when we visited Westminster Presbyterian Church. A big reason was our friendship with April. We felt welcomed by church members. Erin, the nursery leader, made our whole family feel at home. We are grateful for Westminster and appreciate the inclusivity, global awareness and positive political views. Westminster is very impressive in the way it reaches out to the community where everyone is valued. We are continuing to learn generosity at Westminster. We support our church because we value our Christian faith. Our greatest hope for our next generation is growing up in a loving and active church.
