Meet Our Accompanist

Justina Hodgson

Justina is a native of Long Beach, California. She was baptized in a Presbyterian church and has an earnest heart for sharing music as her ministry. From an early age, she showed interest in the organ and piano. She began her piano studies at the age of seven with Vivian Scott, whose teacher was a protégé of the famous German pianist and composer, Franz Liszt. Shortly after, she learned the basics of violin from Linda Kellogg. Along the way, Justina learned how to play the cello, viola, flute, clarinet, double-bass, guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, and harp.

After earning her Bachelor's of Music degree in the spring of 2007 from California State University, Long Beach, Justina went on to live in various places throughout the world. She has enjoyed holding positions with some professional orchestras in the US, including concertmaster of the Boulder Symphony Orchestra, Bellflower Symphony Orchestra and Filipino American Symphony Orchestra.

Justina has had the good fortune to collaborate as a session musician with various renown artists such as John Williams, Josh Groban and Hollywood film composers. Teaching private music lessons and playing live music and songwriting with her husband, McHale, is her passion. They are happy to call Virginia their forever home. Their original music has been synced to TV shows with HBO Max and are in exclusive deals with several sync music libraries. In her spare time, she volunteers as a hospice musician, joyfully playing music to hospice patients in the Shenandoah Valley.
