Where is Westminster located?
Westminster Presbyterian Church is located at 1904 Mt Vernon St, Waynesboro, VA 22980. We are in the neighborhood behind Waynesboro Garden Center on Hwy 250.
When are the Sunday worship services?
Red Door Worship Service, Sundays, 9:00 am, Chapel
The Red Door Service in the Chapel provides an intimate service for those who enjoy a relaxed style of worship. The music includes upbeat praise sung by the Refuge band. Prayers are offered weekly by the lighting of candles. Coffee, juice and refreshments are available before and during the service.
Open Door Worship Service, Sundays, 11:15 am, Sanctuary
The Open Door service in the Sanctuary blends traditional and contemporary elements from unison prayers of confession to affirming our faith together. Music includes leadership from many groups: Chancel Choir, Hearts of Praise Choir, and Hand Bell Choirs. Large print bulletins and devices to assist the hearing impaired are provided in the Sanctuary.
Is child care available during worship services?
Both services offer a nursery for children who are under four years old. A paid Nursery Attendant is on staff to greet parents and children each week and to provide a consistent face for children when they come to church. The nursery uses a check in system where each child receives a sticker to wear during their time in the nursery. A sticker with the same number is given to parents at drop off and must be presented at time of pick up.
During each service a children’s time offers a faith message given to and for children. Following the children time, kids who are in preschool through 2nd grade can attend children’s church which includes Bible stories, crafts and games.
Am I welcome to take communion?
Communion is served 7-9 times each year. The Lord’s table invites all those who are baptized or seeking a deeper relationship with God through our Lord Jesus Christ sustained by the Holy Spirit.
Is the church accessible for those with disabilities?
Our Chapel and Sanctuary are accessible. An elevator is located in the colonnade to access both floors of the building.
