Call to Worship
Leader:     Christ is calling you as disciple
People:    Lord Jesus, let us follow you faithfully.
Leader:     You will be led into fields of mission and service.
People:    Lord Jesus, where you lead us, we will go.
Leader:     Listen for Christ’s call to you.
People:    We are ready to serve the Lord.

*Hymn of Praise        Jesus Calls us O’er the Tumult                    Red #580

*Unison Prayer of Confession
Eternal God,
We listen to the stories of the call of the disciples and find them interesting but unrealistic. When we look at our own lives, we believe that we could not leave everything to follow someone we didn’t know. We have many responsibilities and ties which keep us from following. But God you are persistent. God, you understand our confusion, our doubts, and yet you continue to call us to be in ministry and mission in this world.  Help us to lay down our nets, our devices, and our fears so that we can pick up the cross, walk with our feet and serve with our life as a disciple of Christ.  Give us courage to step out on the water like Peter. Empower us to serve alongside family like James and John. Forgive us when we fail and pick us up when we fall, like you have every disciple who has gone before us and every disciple who will go ahead of us.  For the gift of faith and the call to follow we remain forever grateful.  Amen.

*Silent Prayer of Confession and Assurance of Pardon

*Westminster Greeting Please greet those who are in worship this morning.
