Call to Worship
Leader:  How are we to live as God’s beloved children?
People:  We are to have attitudes and actions of compassion and justice.
Leader:  How are we to live as neighbors with one another?
People:  We are to put on the garments of love and peace.
Leader:  Let us come before the Lord in gratitude for all we have been given.
People:  Lord, thank you for all you continue to do in our lives. AMEN.

*Hymn of Praise         It Came Upon A Midnight Clear                     Red #170

*Unison Prayer of Confession
Loving God, you know our sins before we confess them.  You know how we withdraw from you
and are less than honest in our dealings with others.  You know the fears that hold us captive and the lack of faith that paralyzed us.
We resent suffering, but take good times for granted.
We want the fruits of faithfulness without following the paths where you would lead us.
Open us to a fuller vision of life’s possibilities, and lead us to a better way in the coming year.  Amen.

*Silent Prayer of Confession

*Affirmation of Faith                 Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried;
he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy Catholic Church;
the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
