Welcome and Opening Prayer

Call to Worship
Leader:  Are not two sparrows old for a penny?
People:  Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.
Leader:  And even the hairs of your head are all counted.
So do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows
All:  Let us worship God our Creator and Lord.

*Hymn of Praise, All Things Bright and Beautiful                                      (see insert)

*Prayer of Confession
Lord God, giver of life and source of beauty.
We know that you have assured us to ask for what we need.
Forgive us for all the times we thought we could solve our own problems.
We know that you have told us it is better to give than to receive.
Forgive us when we have been slow and reluctant givers.
We know that you have told us not let our hearts be troubled.
Forgive the many times we have been consumed by worry and anxiety.
In your mercy, hear our prayer. Help us change what we are, and direct what we shall be
so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways.  Amen
*Silent Prayer of Confession
*Assurance of Pardon

*Westminster Greeting

Leader: What is your only comfort, in life and in death?
All: That I belong -body and soul, in life and in death- not to myself but to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ, who at the cost of his own blood has fully paid for all my sins and has completely freed me from the dominion of the devil; that he protects me so well that without the will of my Father in heaven not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, that everything must fit his purpose for my salvation.  Therefore, by his Holy Spirit, he also assures me of eternal life, and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for him.
